What is a Street Team?
A street team is a group of fans brought together to help promote an artist or band. Street team members help the artists by bringing friends to shows, convincing others to buy the artists' music and merchandise, contacting radio stations and requesting the artists, putting up posters, sending emails and online bulletins and announcements, posting to online message boards, creating graphics and website devoted to artists and more.
What are points?
Points are what you earn when you participate in an activity that promotes an artist. Points can be used to buy exclusive merchandise as rewards for your hard work.
How can I earn points?
You can earn points by participating in street team activities, as well as completing projects and challenges. Anything you do to help promote an artist will earn you points. You also earn points for posting on the street team forums and attending street team chats.
What can I do with points?
You can earn rewards and prizes with your points, using them to buy exclusive merchandise from the artist.
How do I report an activity to get points?
To report your activity, click on the appropriate activity and the link provided for the report or go to "Get Points" on the team and fill out all the necessary information. If you have a photo to submit, upload that where indicated and click on "Submit." A street team leader will review your report and assign your points accordingly.
What is a project?
A project is a task assigned to you to help promote the artist. You can participate in as many projects as you'd like as many times as you want to earn points.
What is a special assignment?
A special assignment is a project that usually has a time limit. This is something we need to be done quickly to help promote something for the artist.
What are rewards?
Rewards are what you can spend your points on. This is usually exclusive merchandise only available to the team. It doesn't cost you anything but points to get rewards. So the more you promote, the more stuff you can get!
What are contests?
From time to time, we will have special contests for cool prizes that we will announce to the team. These contests are open to all street team members. Prizes will be given out according to the contest rules.
What are tools?
Tools are what you can use to help promote an artist. This includes things like banners, flyers, MySpace bulletin generators, AIM icons and more. The proper code will be given through this section for whatever tool you choose.
What is the media section for?
Here you can upload your very own photos of an artist (or you with an artist), as well as video that you've found or taken from YouTube. This is a way for you to share your own personal experiences with the whole team.
What's the chat?
The chat is just that - an online chat tool for you to use whenever you feel like it. Use it to get to know other team members. We will also schedule chats regularly, including special chats with the artist.
What are the forums?
The forums are the official street team message boards. Here is where you can interact with other team members, as well as the team leads.
Why do I have to submit my password to access the forums sometimes?
This is in order to cut down on spam. This should prevent spammers from having access to posting anything on the team message board.
Why can't I view the forums from the Latest Forum Posts links?
During your first visit to the team, you must verify your identity to our forums by clicking directly on the "Forums" link at the top of the site. You will be asked for your password and then will be redirected to the forums. After this initial verification, you will be able to access the forums through either the link at the top of the site or the "Latest Forum Posts" links. This is to prevent spammers from having access to our forums.
How do I edit my profile?
To edit your profile, login to the team and click on "Edit Your Account." From here, you can change any or all of your information, change your password, as well as upload a user icon or photo. You can also include some information about yourself to help others get to know you better on the team. Also, please note that you can edit your profile for the forums, which is slightly different from your profile on the rest of the team.
How do I view my account activity?
To view your account activity, login to the team and click on "View Your Account." From here, you can see all of the projects and challenges you've participated in, as well as all of your points counts.
